When asked why he once climbed the 6,088' tall mountain in Bolivia, Ryan answered, "Because I was bored." The former competitive swimmer and current golfer found overlap between the two sports after having to fish out balls he'd shanked into water hazards. Ryan chose golf after his training sessions for competitive eating were derailed due to being kicked out of several all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. His love of sports isn't limited to participating, as he can be seen proudly and loudly supporting all Toronto teams.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, he worked at Scotia McLeod and RBC Royal Bank. He has an HBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University. While studying, Ryan managed to find time to twice captain the university's swim team.
