When it comes to keeping her fellow EdgePointers on the right side of the rules, compliance officer Shakira is fearless. The same can’t be said when it comes to birds as she’ll do anything to avoid them. Fortunately for everyone, Shakira only has to deal with legal eagles as part of her day job. She cross trains to keep up with her son by playing competitive kickball and cycling. Shakira keeps her activities diversified by going to musicals, poetry slams and ballets.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Shakira was a senior compliance officer at Invesco Canada and a transaction processing specialist at CIBC. She earned a diploma in Human Resources with postgraduate certificates in Risk Management and Financial Services Administration from Seneca College.
