Fees don’t drive relationships but they’re definitely a consideration when evaluating your investments. As part of your process you have to determine who offers what, for how much and therefore know that not all investments are created equal, especially when it comes to fees.
At EdgePoint, instead of offering price breaks at different thresholds, we offer one low fee to all of our Series F investors. That one fee is very competitive with what’s offered by other firms but typically available only to those with at least $100,000 to invest.
We focus on keeping things simple. Besides the same Series F fee for everyone starting at $20,000, we’ve had the same four funds since the start and still avoid any unnecessary costs that aren’t mandatory or beneficial to our investors.
No matter how much money an investor has, the less they spend on fees, the more they earn and save.
