The "season for sharing" list
Welcome to the 2020 edition of the EdgePoint gift list (also known as "after the year we've had, don't your friends and family deserve something nice" list). The seventh annual holiday gift guide is full of gift recommendations that we hope you can share with the people you probably didn't get to see much in person this year. We hope all of you stay safe during the holiday season.
Support local businesses
It's been a tough year for many people, including local businesses. We believe gift cards and presents from your local restaurant or a business always make a great gift, especially this year.
In addition to Amazon links, we also added links to Canadian retailers where possible. Although we couldn't add every local business that might carry them, we hope this inspires you to browse the websites of your local businesses this holiday season.
New this year – products made by businesses in our Portfolios
This year we're including some of our favourite products made by businesses we hold in our Portfolios. These are NOT recommendations to buy the stock themselves.
We've also added two new pieces of EdgePoint swag! As always, all the profits go towards lowering investors’ fees and (all else being equal) increase our investors’ future returns, so you can shop guilt-free:
Help get to your Point B by keeping yourself and those around you safe with an EdgePoint mask. They're handmade, adjustable, incredibly comfortable and have a filter pocket.
A soft cotton long-sleeved shirt for those willing to look different. Written on the back: "The willingness to look wrong in the short term so you can be right in the long term".

Made by businesses in our Portfolios
Probably the best chain fried chicken sandwich in Canada. Tested and confirmed by multiple EdgePointers this year.
Restaurant Brands International, Inc.
Note: Restaurant Brands International, Inc. is owned in at least one of Cymbria and/or the EdgePoint Portfolios. This is not a recommendation to purchase the company.
The 2020 model was an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and several EdgePointers swear by their Subarus.
And if you’re near Grande Prairie, Alberta, you can get it from an Auto Canada-owned dealership.
(If you’re interested in another make, there are 49 other AutoCanada dealerships that sell 21 other brands across the country.)
Barbie, Fisher Price and more
EdgePoint’s children’s holiday party featured several Mattel gifts. Some of the popular toys this year include the diverse Barbie Fashionista line and Fisher-Price’s Laugh & Learn & Grow Garden to Kitchen set.
Note: Mattel, Inc. is owned in at least one of Cymbria and/or the EdgePoint Portfolios. This is not a recommendation to purchase the company.
Assuming you aren’t in the market for a one-of-a-kind, Cartier-designed La Peregrina necklace once owned by Elizabeth Taylor, you could show your commitment to your partner with the iconic Cartier Love bracelet or ring. The bracelet can only be removed by the included screwdriver.
Compagnie Financière Richemont SA
Note: Compagnie Financière Richemont SA is owned in at least one of Cymbria and/or the EdgePoint Portfolios. This is not a recommendation to purchase the company.
Not everyone can get high-speed Internet access, especially people outside of urban or suburban areas. Xplornet uses EchoStar’s satellites to get faster Internet to remote parts of Canada.
Note: Echostar Corp. is owned in at least one of Cymbria and/or the EdgePoint Portfolios. This is not a recommendation to purchase the company.
Although gatherings are more restricted this year, that doesn’t mean that certain unwanted guests won’t be in your home. For those in the Greater Toronto Area, give yourself the gift of a pest-free household.
HomePro Pest Control Inc.
Note: HomePro Pest Control Inc. is owned in at least one of Cymbria and/or the EdgePoint Portfolios. This is not a recommendation to purchase the company.
It's easy to get overwhelmed by their diverse product line, but fortunately EdgePointers put their money where their make-up is and tested a lot of products. Here are some of the recommendations:
Ultimune - Shiseido's #1 seller. It helps to strengthen and protect the skin
White Lucent - Skin brightener, helps with sun spots, brown spots, etc.
Benefiance - Who doesn’t want anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, teenage skin for life?!
Essential Energy - moisturizer that's a safe, no-fail gift
Hanatsubaki Hake Polishing Face Brush - Works with different types of face makeup. It smooths and polishes the makeup, so it looks natural, as opposed to looking like spackle
Daiya Fude Face Duo - It’s award winning, and multi functional due to it’s dual tip
Cleaning massage brush - A manual cleaning brush that will last a long time. Great for sensitive skin types
Eyelash curler - An award winning eyelash curler for years and years. Handy for those who do not wear makeup, but want a little something to open up their eyes. (And no, – it doesn’t hurt)
Shiseido Co., Ltd.
Note: Shiseido Co., Ltd. is owned in at least one of Cymbria and/or the EdgePoint Portfolios. This is not a recommendation to purchase the company.
